Safe Church Policy

As a Christ-centered community, we are committed to Jesus' example of welcoming and protecting the well-being of the most vulnerable members in our care. That's why we have implemented safe church policies and practices, especially for ministries related to children and youth. These practices include, but are not limited to:

  • Mandatory background checks and abuse awareness and safety trainings for all volunteers working with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults

  • Safe sanctuary practices which ensure 2 or more trained volunteers are always present and visible when working with children and youth

  • Accessibility and visibility practices such as having doors with windows and see-through fencing for play areas

  • Up to date files with relevant health (allergies, special care needs), emergency contacts, and guardian release information for children and youth. These files are easily accessible to volunteers during events and are secured in locked offices when not in use.

  • Safety measures within the facility: stocked first aid kits; hallway AED; functioning smoke/heat detectors; ADA accessibility throughout the building
