Welcome to Snohomish United Methodist Church! We are people of faith striving to live into God's vision of justice and peace for all creation. We believe that God is still at work in our world and that we are called to participate with that work in our communities. Everyone is invited into God's love. We hope we can witness to that love for all people, too.
We're glad that you're here!
You may have heard news stories in the media about the future of the United Methodist Church denomination. As a global church, we bring diverse perspectives to our interpretation of Scripture and its application to social questions. In May 2020, the General Conference will meet to make decisions about our denominational future. Only the General Conference can make those decisions. No decisions have been made yet.
Anything before May remains a proposed possibility that must be reviewed by our Judicial Council and translated into legislation before it can be considered by the General Conference in May.
For more on the January 3rd proposed "Protocol of Reconciliation and Grace Through Separation" click here. Read Frequently Asked Questions about that plan here.
For more on ALL proposed legislation, follow our Conference page or United Methodist News Service.
United Methodists are a church community actively seeking to respond in thanksgiving for the grace and peace that God has given us in Jesus Christ, and to offer it to all we meet. We exist in and for the created world, and understand that the dividedness of both our church and our world is a hindrance to our calling. We strive to be a place of open community – “Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds” – ever mindful that we are open to God’s way of love and justice. Therefore, we are also sent to our community and the world.
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
I Corinthians 1:3
